Serious safety failure, zero accountability. Avoid this rental. We rented a boat in late August 2025 and encountered a life-threatening safety issue that the company dismissed and then blamed on us. - Toxic fumes in the cabin: From handover there was a strong smell that staff waved away as “just the sanitary system.” Two days later the cabin filled with hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) fumes—a toxic, flammable gas. One of us nearly fainted. - Shifting blame instead of owning the problem: Their follow-up message tried to reframe events as our fault (weather choices, anchor use, “misusing” batteries). Nothing about why the boat was handed over with a dangerous defect or what they’ll change to keep future guests safe. - Poor safety culture: A responsible operator would suspend the boat, investigate root cause, document findings, and prioritize guest safety. We saw none of that. Bottom line: If you value safety, accountability, and basic customer care, book elsewhere. Boats and the sea demand professionalism; this company showed the opposite.

We rented a Lagoon 440 catamaran Oceaneus through Angelina Yacht Charter (Garant), and from the very beginning, the experience was disappointing. Despite paying for early check-in, we couldn’t depart as planned due to anchor problems caused by an electrical malfunction. This not only cost us valuable sailing time, but also resulted in a rushed and inadequate briefing. We had barely any time to get to know the boat—and ironically, I’ve received more detailed instructions when renting a small motorboat. The anchor remained a major issue throughout the trip. We experienced serious problems lifting it—so much so that we had to turn off all refrigerators just to give it enough power to operate. This was extremely inconvenient and unacceptable on a vessel of this size. From day one, the right engine had persistent problems, shutting down at low speeds and making docking or maneuvering difficult and stressful. On the first day alone, it took us over an hour just to turn it off. Because of this and other technical issues, we had to return to the base to address the engine problem, which cost us nearly half a day of our trip. Unfortunately, the boat was poorly maintained overall, with multiple critical systems not functioning properly: • The water supply indicator didn’t work. • The fuel gauge for the left engine was faulty. • The batteries were so weak we couldn’t even charge our phones. • The cabin/saloon door couldn’t be locked, leaving us without privacy or security for 14 days. • Only 2 out of the 4 toilets were usable. In short, the catamaran was in poor condition and clearly not ready for charter. We were extremely disappointed by the lack of maintenance, professionalism, and support from the charter company.

Excellent boat rental company, last year we rented the Elan Impression 45 sailboat from them, "My Dreams." Outstanding vessel, very fast check-in and check-out, no complications. I will definitely choose them again this year.

MY RECOMMENDATION ! This charter company stands out as one of the best. Their fleet consists of relatively new vessels, well-maintained and equipped above the average. Many boats are fitted with built-in air conditioning. The Marina Veruda base in PULA serves as an excellent launchpad for exploring the stunning islands of Unije, Lošinj, Cres, Olib, Silba, Susak, and more. ALL PRAISES!

A relatively seamless onboarding although it mostly required me to pay for things up front. Asking for 70 euros for four cockpit cushions seemed cheap but at least they were up front about it. The boat itself was showing it's age. Lights were not working, guardrails loose and plenty of surface wear and tear. Not an issue in of itself but indicative of a lack of maintenance. The maintenance issues became all too apparent when sailing in heavy seas saw three hatch seals leak and allow water into sleeping births and the navigation desk area. On returning the boat the shorecrew were not interested in any of these failings. Given we'd had to dry out beds, linens and lots of clothes I felt the least they could do was to acknowledge the issue and make some suggestions on how they could compensate us for the discomfort. The boat check was delayed until the next morning for reasons that I wasn't not convinced about 'they need to check the bathroom if we stay on the boat?' but in fact they did engine checks. All in all my experience was more akin to dealing with a shifty rental car agency in a 3rd world country rather than renting a high end sailing yacht. There are plenty of other providers and I suggest using them ahead of Jadranka.
