We've been chartering sailboats in various parts of the world for 38 years, and we've had good, average, and not-so-good trips, always enjoying them, which is why we keep chartering. But what had never happened to us before was what happened this June with MG Yachts in Lefkada, Greece. It was our first time with them. As always, upon arrival, the check-in process is quick and straightforward. Among other things, the autopilot engages for a second, which moves the rudder a bit, then quickly shuts off—as is standard practice—as the autopilot doesn't engage within the marina area. We continue to see things, though not everything. We're told that upon departure, we'll check the rest of the sails, etc., and if there's any problem, we'll send a message. We'd already mentioned something that wasn't correct, and the response was that on a 10-year-old boat, we can't expect everything to be perfect... We reviewed and signed the official inventory list, thinking with the peace of mind that MG Yachts conveys, ensuring that the departure and return journey would be as smooth and comfortable as the arrival. We set sail with the helm in hand and didn't engage the autopilot until the second day, when we realized it couldn't steer and was making noise. We left it and sent a message to the company, informing them of this, but not of other defects we also found, such as desynchronized electronics and soaked mattresses and pillows. We resigned ourselves to not having an autopilot, but didn't give it much thought. Upon returning the boat and checking out, we innocently informed the agency about the autopilot problem, and were told it was broken and we would have to pay for the expensive repair. In addition to not having access to it during our stay because it wasn't working, we had to pay to have it repaired. A device with obvious signs of having been tampered with rather than repaired. They confirmed to us that the same part had already been repaired two weeks earlier. If we've ever broken something on the boats we've rented over the years, we understand that, in fairness, we had to pay for it, and we've never discussed it or tried to hide it. But what the "friends of MG Yachts of Lefkas" have done to us is indescribable, isn't it? A feeling of injustice, helplessness, fraud, impunity, abuse, perhaps one of them? A very, very unpleasant experience. We will return, but with the reputable companies that have always treated us well.

Sailing on the catamaran Serendipity was an absolutely amazing experience! The check-in and check-out process was smooth and easy. At first, we were a bit worried about a smell lingering in the cockpit, but just as we had been warned, it was due to the boat being used for the first time after the winter break. It aired out quickly, though. The yacht isn't brand new, but it’s well-maintained and in good shape But hands down, the best part of our trip was our phenomenal skipper, Josie Karama. She’s professional, open, funny, and just an all-around lovely person. She handled the boat like a pro, generously shared her knowledge, and was actively involved in helping us shape the route. She knows the waters like the back of her hand and took us to the most beautiful beaches and breathtaking coves — we even sailed with dolphins! 🐬⛵ If Josie is available — book her. You won’t regret it!

Great company, very nice people. My first charter with MG was back in 1999. Now back after 25 yrs and still very good experience. Sailed their Oceanis 38.1 from Alimos (2019). It shows her ages on the inside a bit, but has very good sail-performance and technically in good condition.

Amazing time with this sailing company. Fresh yachts and nice crew, helping us with check in and check out. I deffenitely recommed this company, join them and have a pleasure in Greece!

Had an amazing time on a sailing yacht provided by this company! The people are real professionals and guide you together through your journey. At the end of the perfect trip I unfortunately left my laptop charger on the boat.. it wasn’t a problem. MG Yachts posted it to my place without any problems. Great service all in all!
