Rented the Leeroy, a modern bavaria 33. And had a great time with it! The ship was very well maintaned, as well as fully equiped and clean. The company Starsails Yacht Charter, has his own dock, right next to Watersportcentrum Lemmer. There is plenty of parking space available. You can park the car very close to the ship wich makes things easy with your luggage. During your time in the dock you can use the sanitary facilities of Watersportcentrum Lemmer. The owner, Helge Kroger is the thriving factor; very relaxed, enthousiastic and thinking along with you. He also is pretty busy, so during a phonecall ahead of the booking he could appear a little short. We learned; trustworthy guy. Little heads up, although you are renting the boat in the Netherlands: he is German, as well is the company and it's website and the flag on your boat. little note for our fellow dutchies: We booked the ship without bedlinnen, that means: no blankets as well.

Wishing we knew this charter company earlier and checked the opinions. The negative ones were truth. Unfortunately we were not the first to pay and book Varianta 44 „ Sulukongur”. At Lemmer we have found out that the boat is in bad condition and without necessary safety features. The charter company after few hours communicated that the boat we booked cannot sail so They had to propose to us another boat - not clean, not prepared, without documents as it turned soon out. It was for us astonishing that the owner knew the condition of Varianta 44 and constantly is repeating the practice of renting this boat for months or even years, as we can see from the past opinions. Should that be repeated? Seems like common practise though. Even now this boat „Sulukongur” is available for renting, knowing it is not safe and ready. Due to this change we were forced to stay in Marina, loose about 30 hours and change our plans for holidays. Less visited places. The boat we received as exchange, was younger, yes, but not cleaned, not completed and not ready. We waited even for basic documents - these were not delivered on time, and with many formal mistakes. It was dissapointing, the same as sinking deck during rain (so we often needed to dry wet floor inside.) So, If you want to rent „Sulukongur”, you still can, yet you also can be sure, it won’t sail, and you will be offered some other, probably similar boat - not ready, not clean, not prepared and definitely not fully completed regarding necessary equipment. And be careful regarding deposit, you might not receive it fully back giving the boat back even in better condition than rented at very begginig, E.g. Cleaned by the crew. Dear Sir, After booking the Varianta 44, you were informed about our intention to sail from Lemmer via Belgium to France and back. What I described previously, we assume you were aware that Varianta 44 is not able to sail and sadly having that knowledge you informed us the day we were about to start our trip. Some people, described similar situation about Varianta 44 months before. And Varianta is not able to sail, still today is available for rent. I described the practise of „renting” the not-able-to-sail boat and exchanging it to whatever S/Y you currently have. We enjoyed our holidays, cause of weather, wind, places and company. We informed you we want to go to Belgium and France only. England was never in scope. Maybe you are refering to some other crew? Regarding Dufour 460, it was not prepared, no available basic documents of the yacht including insurance. Preparation of Dufour took you more than 30 hours, and still all not completed or with mistakes. Dufour 460 was not ready to sail too, and being aware of that same as Varianta 44, you proposed this boat to us. You were informed about our intention to sail there for months. This performance caused big delay in starting our trip. The delay - we payed for. The condition of Dufour, Sir, it was not much clean, we did by ourselves much work. The deck was leaking from above, with all the hatches and windows closed. Sir, with all respect, your suggestion about opening was not truth about us and probably you meant some other crew or just it is a mistake like with England? The fridge was leaking. The pyrotechnics were not complete. No raft. The mattresses were dirty, old and should be replaced with new ones. What is also interesting, on your webpage, the 4 photographs of Dufour 460 Seneko are not presenting the actual Seneko - inside is different. Regarding the deposit, I did mention the problem with not giving back the deposit. I did not mention about any damage because there was nothing from our part. We have your formal confirmation the receipt of the boat without any issues - signed protocol on which it was stated from your part – „no issues”. Later on you did not contact us and you did not inform about anything, first what happened after giving the yacht back without any issues, was not returning the full amount of money from deposit back. It was us, to ask why you have changed your decision. Regards.

I don't have a good opinion of this charter. They have questionable practices. I was there a few weeks ago, and there was a problem with our boat. We spent a lot of time in port because our boat wasn't ready. They proposed a different boat, which wasn't as functional. It was dirty. Our captain constantly had to demand important things before we left. When we came back, they checked the boat and confirmed that everything was okay. We cleaned the boat perfectly, better than they gave it to us. Now they don't want to return the money from our deposit. How is it possible that they checked the boat, confirmed everything was good, and now they don't want to give the deposit back? This is poor behavior and unfair. I do not recommend them!

Second time chartering with Helge and team. They are very responsive and uncomplicated.

I called the number shortly after office close and was in urgent need for a Yacht starting the next day. Helge was so kind to help out and spared no effort to make it happen. Top Charter and the whole Team is a great bunch of people. Thanks again - saved my Family holiday
